About Our Programs
The Boys & Girls Clubs of America's national programs have taken members from the Clubhouse to the White House; from the games room to the corporate boardroom; from the high school orchestra to Carnegie Hall.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County has a lineup of tested and proven recognized programs that address today's most pressing youth issues, teaching young people the skills they need to succeed in life.
Our Boys & Girls Clubs programs are directed by our trained staff and are specifically targeted to the following core areas:

- Character & Leadership Development - Youth of the Year, Torch Club, Jr. staff Development, and Keystone Club.
The Character & Leadership Development Programs empower youth to support and influence their Club & Community, sustain meaningful relationships, develop a positive self-image, participate in the democratic process, and respect their own and other’s cultural identities.
- The Arts - Arts & Crafts, Dance, Drama class, Fine Arts, Digital Arts, and Knitting.
The Arts Programs enable youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through increased knowledge and appreciation of visual and tactile arts and crafts, performing arts and creative writing.
- Education and Career Development - Power Hour, Kids in College, Keys to the Future, Project Connect, Project Learn, and Kiwanis Adventures in Learning.
The Education and Career Development Programs enable youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines. The educational programs relate to everyday situations and help the children develop skills in technology to optimize employability.
- Sports, Fitness, and Recreation - Basketball Leagues, Judo, Climbing Wall, Field Trips, and Swimming.
The Sports, Fitness and Recreation Programs help members develop habIts that nurture fitness, positive use of their leisure time, skills for stress management, an appreciation for the environment, and social and interpersonal skills.
- Health & Life Skills - SMART Moves, SMART Girls, Passport to Manhood, and Rotary Kids Café.
The Health and Life Skills develop the capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture the child’s well being. The activities teach them how to set personal goals and develop the competencies to live successfully as self-sufficient adults.
